Pimples may result from high level of the male hormone (androgen). Reason why it is common after puberty, due to stimulation of excess oil and body fluid by the hormone. Aside these, pimples also contain dead hair cells which get infected by bacteria inside the skin
When recurrent, this may be caused by excess oil secretion on the face, serving as conducive environment for bacteria to thrive. These is more complicated by a habit of repeated touching if the face by the concerned individuals.
Solution: avoid repeated touching if the face; wash face as often as possible to reduce sweat and oil on the face; avoid pressing on the pimples on the face. Aside the fact that this attracts more infection by bacteria, it is a dangerous venture. This is because there is an area on the face where whatever is pressed can get dislodged into the blood vessels on the face and attract clot formation which becomes an embolus that goes directly to the brain. The resultant effect may be fatal.
Some medications may help in the treatment such as benzyl benzoate, erythromycin, azithromycin etc
