Growing up I didn't have any sign of erectile dysfunction, but I started noticing it at my late 30s. What are the things that cause erectile dysfunction in a man. I really want to know what one needs to do to avoid erectile dysfunction.
I would like to also know the remedies or doesn't it have a medically certified solution? I've heard of many advertisement by herbal doctors on how it can be cured, but I haven't heard from any hospital or medical doctors if it has a permanent cure.

Erectile dysfunction is commoner at older age. It may be situational or related to certain diseases. When it is situational such as relating to anxiety of adequate sexual performance with a new partner, low mood, etc, a change in the situation can restore adequate erection. This may not require treatment in the real sense of it. Counselling may be all that is necessary.

However, erectile dysfunction can be related to certain conditions / diseases such as diabetes mellitus, chronic hypertension, cigarette smoking, chronic kidney disease, artherosclerosia (narrowing of blood vessels), damage to the nerve connected to the penis during surgery for prostate.

The treatment for erectile dysfunction depends on the causative factor. While some of these are reversible, unfortunately, some may not be reversible. Those that may not be reversible include damage to the nerve connected to the penis during surgery, prolonged uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and some degenerative conditions like multiple sclerosis.

Erectile dysfunction is better prevented than treated. Prevention methods include: avoidance of smoking, healthy lifestyle to prevent diabetes and hypertension; and whenever any of these is present, prompt treatment and compliance with medication is very important. Whether there is need for surgical procedure, it should be carried out by specialist in that field in order to reduce damage to other important tissues of the body which may be permanent.

As to the effectiveness of herbal medication in treating erectile dysfunction, I may not be able to ascertain or refute the claims. Those who have accessed the services may be in the best position to verify those claims. However, as issues relating to sexual performance are mostly shrouded in secrecy, getting honest opinions may not be very easy.
